With almost half as many helicopter and snowcat services as there
are developed resorts it's not hard to imagine ski and riding fresh
powder in Oceania.
The mountains of Oceania are not very high compared to other ski
and snowboard destinations around the world, however their proximity
to Antarctica makes for good snow conditions. It's true that
northern Australia is close to the Equator, creating a desert climate
in a large part of the country, but Australia extends as far south
(where most of the ski and riding is found), as 44 degrees latitude.
