If you're a serious snow sport enthusiast looking for
outerwear, there is no substitute for GOR-TEX. Most
of the major manufacturers make a line that incorporates this
wonder material. Yes, it is more expensive than alternative
materials and is usually only incorporated into the higher
end apparel, however, as the old adage goes "You Get
what you pay for," and in this case it is absolutely
true. I've been skiing for 26 years and have tried my
fair share of outerwear, but a couple of years ago I bought
my first GOR-TEX jacket, and I'll never go back! It's
light, tough, waterproof, and best of all, it breathes. With
the right layering system underneath, you stay warm and dry
all day long!
